Greening Western Queens Community Forestry Project: Harvesting the Yields Strategic Planning and Visioning Session

Please join us for our strategic planning and visioning session for 2015 and beyond! Help plan the future of community forestry in Western Queens. Trees need people and people need trees! In addition, please join us for a tour of a storm water mitigation bioswale at the Steinway & Sons Piano Factory from 1:45 P.M. to 3:30 P.M. after the meeting. Limited transportation from and back to Bohemian Hall during the tour will be provided.

Beautify Our Bike Lane Tree Care Workday

Learn how to keep trees happy and healthy with the NYC Compost Project hosted by Build It Green!NYC! Help prepare local tree beds along the Vernon Boulevard bike lane in Long Island City for the fall and winter. We’ll be weeding, cultivating the soil, planting daffodil bulbs and amending tree beds with locally made compost and mulch to help them thrive in our urban environment.
