Green Spokes Ride Club
July 28th, August 11th, August 25th, Sept. 8th, Sept. 15th, Sept. 22nd, Sept. 29th, Oct 6th, 10am
Meet at Recycle-A-Bicycle’s Long Island City Workshop at the SE corner of 5th Street & 46th Avenue in LIC, Queens. Workshop is located 1 block west of Vernon Boulevard.
Weekly bike rides in Western Queens for kids ages 14 to 18 with adult chaperones and ride leaders. Participants learn about safe riding, hidden treasures and landmarks in Western Queens, and the benefits of an active, healthy lifestyle. Recycle-A-Bicycle maintains a fleet of bikes and provides helmets to participants, all free of charge. Parents are encouraged to participate too!
Permission slips are absolutely necessary and are available at www.recycleabicycle.org. Our first ride is Saturday, July 28th. Please contact bin@recycleabicycle.orgfor more information.
Recycle-A-Bicycle is a community-based bike shop and 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that utilizes the bicycle as a resource to foster youth development, environmental education, community engagement, and healthy living. With support from the Greening Western Queens Fund, Recycle-A-Bicycle provides a series of fun, innovative, and educational programs to engage local youth, residents, and community partners about the future of bicycling within Western Queens.
